Ubisoft pulls out of E3 2023, opts for own event called “Ubisoft Forward Live” instead

Ubisoft, the publisher of popular game series such as Assassin's Creed and Far Cry, has been a regular at the event for years. However, it appears that the French gaming behemoth will deviate from that tradition this year, this information was shared with VCG.

previous statements

Ubisoft previously stated that it would be present at the physical E3 event in Los Angeles this June. This was good news for fans who had been looking for information on their favorite franchises. Unfortunately, the company appears to have changed its mind. Instead, it will hold its own live event in Los Angeles on June 12th.

While E3 has hosted some of the most memorable moments in the gaming industry, a spokesperson for Ubisoft stated that the company has decided to "move in a different direction."

question marks

The decision to hold its own event was unexpected, and it could have an impact on the revamped E3 show. The event this year, the first physical show since 2019, will take place from June 13th to 16th.

Ubisoft's decision calls into question the attendance of other major companies at E3 2023. With only three months to go, no other major company has officially announced their attendance (with many, such as Nintendo, actually stating that they will not attend). Fans are speculating about the new show's lineup as a result of Ubisoft's decision.

not unusal

This decision may also be interpreted as a reflection of the changing times in the industry. Many gaming companies have begun to host their own events in order to directly reach their target audience. This move could also be strategic for Ubisoft, giving them more control over their presentation and announcement pace.

Ubisoft live

On June 12th, Ubisoft fans can look forward to their own event, Ubisoft Forward Live. More information will be released soon, according to the company.
