Stalker 2 Developer Refuses to Bow Down to Hackers' Demands and Faces Data leak Threats
GSC Game World, the developer behind the highly anticipated Stalker 2 game, has confirmed a recent hack on their company and has refused to respond to the hacker's demands to leak information about the game.
One of many
Over the last year, the Ukrainian-based company has been subjected to a number of cyber-attacks aimed at both the studio and its employees. While the hackers demand that GSC change its attitude toward Russia and Belarus, resume work on a Russian translation of the game, and lift a specific user's ban from the Stalker 2 Discord, the studio has so far chosen not to negotiate with these attackers and seem to still not show any interest in negotiating, understandably.
Russian hackers
The hackers have claimed to be Russian, and have allegedly posted images of gameplay and designs on social media to prove the authenticity of their leak. However, GSC Game World advises players not to pay attention to any leaked information, as it may disappoint them due to the content being of older builds that do not reflect the current state of the game.
Stalker 2
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is set to be released sometime this year. The game is a first-person shooter with survival elements that takes place in the vicinity of the Chornobyl nuclear power plant. The disaster in the game's world has resulted in supernatural phenomena, such as artifacts with special powers, which have sparked a lot of interest and competition for territory and treasures.
As the deadline for hacker threats approaches on March 15, it appears that GSC Game World will not succumb to their threats.
