Obsidian Entertainment would love to work on a Remaster of Fallout: New Vegas

According to directors Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky, Obsidian Entertainment is open to the idea of remastering its hit game Fallout: New Vegas.

In an interview with The Gamer, the duo expressed their desire for a "graphic remaster" of the game.

Cult classic

Fallout: New Vegas, which was released in 2010, has become a cult classic among Fallout fans, known for its rich story and the ability for players to shape their adventure in the wasteland as they see fit. Cain and Boyarsky both agreed that a remastered version of the game would be "Awesome."

Eric DeMilt, director of Obsidian's The Outer Worlds, also recognizes Fallout: New Vegas's enduring popularity. While the game had stability issues at launch, DeMilt notes that those issues were quickly resolved and that its a game fans continue to enjoy to this day.

With both Obsidian and Fallout ip owner Bethesda now under Microsoft's control, a remaster or even a sequel is not out of the question.

Something else

While nothing has been confirmed on that front, Obsidian has something else exciting in the works, as they recently announced the release of the Spacer's Choice Edition for The Outer Worlds, which will include higher resolution, improved lighting and environments, faster load times, and a dynamic weather system, among other improvements.

The expanded version of the game will also include the expansions Murder on Eridanos and Peril on Gorgon. The game will be available on March 7 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S. Whether or not a Fallout: New Vegas remaster will ever be released remains to be seen, but fans can enjoy an updated version of The Outer Worlds in the meantime.
