Dead by Daylight to Hit the Big Screen in Collaboration with Blumhouse and James Wan

Dead by Daylight, the popular asymmetrical multiplayer horror game, is being adapted for the big screen, with Blumhouse producing the film in collaboration with Dead by Daylight developer Behaviour Interactive.

Atomic Monster, James Wan's production company, has also agreed to assist. Blumhouse, known for hits like Insidious, Get Out, and Paranormal Activity, is reportedly looking for a scriptwriter and director who is as passionate about the game as they are.

The official Dead by Daylight Twitter account made the announcement, which excited fans of both the game and horror films. Many crossovers have already occurred between the game and popular horror franchises such as Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween, and Scream but this is the first time that the game will join the movie world.

Behaviour Interactive's vice president, Stephen Mulrooney, expressed excitement about the collaboration with two big names in the horror film industry. He believes Atomic Monster and Blumhouse are the ideal partners for bringing Dead by Daylight to the big screen and making the game's film adaptation a success.

Cult Classic

Dead by Daylight, which was released in 2006, has become a cult classic among horror game fans. The game's unique gameplay, in which one player is the killer and four others must survive, spawned an entire subgenre that has been imitated numerous times since its release.

Fans are excited to see how the game's terrifying world will translate to the big screen with Blumhouse and James Wan on board.
