Take-Two Interactive Predicts Mid-Generation Console Upgrades and Promises Groundbreaking Games

Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive, recently spoke with Games Industry about his concerns about the release of new versions of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles in the middle of this generation. When asked about the possibility of current console Pro editions, similar to the PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X, Zelnick said, "We're probably going to see those, and they had very little impact on business."

Awaiting the Pro Versions

While no official announcements have been made regarding Pro editions of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles, rumors about Sony developing a Pro version of the PlayStation 5 have been circulating for some time. Take-Two Interactive appears to be anticipating these mid-generation upgrades, implying that they may be on the way.

Continued Support for Nintendo Switch

Take-Two's plans to support the Nintendo Switch were also questioned. Despite the cancellation of Midnight Suns' Switch version, the company has demonstrated its commitment to the platform. Lego 2K Drive is now available on the Nintendo Switch, and Star Wars Hunters will be available later this year. "I think we will continue to support the console," Zelnick confirmed, assuring fans that Take-Two's presence on the Nintendo Switch will continue.

Groundbreaking Games on the Horizon

Take-Two Interactive recently revealed its plans for the fiscal year 2025, which will run from April 2024 to March 2025. During this time, the company plans to release "multiple groundbreaking games" with an estimated revenue of $8 billion. This forecast represents a significant increase over the $5.3 billion generated in the previous fiscal year. While no specific titles were mentioned, speculation has already begun, with many anticipating the release of Grand Theft Auto 6 around this time. It should be noted, however, that this has not been officially confirmed.

Excitement Builds for the Future

With the possibility of mid-generation console upgrades and Take-Two Interactive's ambitious plans for game-changing titles, the future looks bright for gamers. The gaming industry is buzzing with excitement and anticipation as players eagerly await the release of Pro editions and the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6. Stay tuned for more information as Take-Two Interactive makes its mark on the gaming landscape.
