Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Confirms Dismemberment Feature in Recent IGN Gameplay Demo Video

It’s time to start cutting up some droids!

Demo Video

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has confirmed the feature of dismemberment while using the lightsaber in combat, according to a recent IGN gameplay demo video. Cal Kestis, the protagonist, is seen fighting several enemies in the gameplay demo video. The lightsaber cuts off the limbs of some of the enemies, such as droids, during the combat sequence, confirming that dismemberment is a feature in the game.

Carrot Chopping

Fans of the franchise are excited about the inclusion of this long-requested feature in the game, which is set to release in 2023, partly because it looks cool and partly because everyone loves chopping some droids up like they are carrots.

History

It's not the first time dismemberment has appeared in a Star Wars game. Dismemberment was also included as a feature in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II in 2004. However, it is worth noting that this feature is missing from more recent Star Wars games. While the exact reason is unknown, it is fairly clear that this has to do with previous games attempting to capture a larger, and thus younger, audience.

Eager Fans

Fans of the franchise are eagerly awaiting the release of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, and the addition of this feature has only increased their anticipation. With the game set to release on April 28th, there is still much to learn about the game's combat system, but this recent gameplay demo video has given fans a taste of what to expect.
