Sony reportedly secures exclusive deals with Konami for Metal Gear Solid 3, Silent Hill, and Castlevania

Sony allegedly has exclusive deals with Konami to release Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, Silent Hill, and Castlevania games on PlayStation consoles. Similar reports were heard by Windows Central's Jez Corden after Xbox Era podcast participant Shpeshal Nick claimed the upcoming Metal Gear Solid 3 remake would be temporarily exclusive to PlayStation.

Possible exclusive deals

Corden then stated that he had heard rumors of other Sony deals with Konami. Silent Hill and Castlevania remakes are among them. The Silent Hill rumor appears to be true, as the remake of Silent Hill 2 has only been announced for the PlayStation 5 and PC. However, there has been no word on a new Castlevania game.

Meanwhile, Capcom is reportedly working on a Dead Rising reboot. Sony and Konami have not officially confirmed any of the rumors.

the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake

The Metal Gear Solid 3 remake is said to be in the works at Virtuous. The studio is well-known for porting Dark Souls and The Outer Worlds to the Nintendo Switch as well as contributing to the development of well-known games like Watch Dogs 2, Battlefield 5, and The Last of Us. However, Konami has yet to make an announcement about the remake.

Long-awaited news from Konami

Noriaki Okamura, producer of several Metal Gear Solid games for Konami, stated last year that something "long-awaited" would be released this year. This news has fueled fan speculation that the company may be resurrecting the Metal Gear Solid franchise.

Exclusive deals are nothing new in the gaming industry, with console manufacturers frequently competing for exclusive titles to attract players to their platforms. Many fans of Konami's popular franchises, however, are surprised by this news, as they had not heard anything about these potential deals until now.

Impact on the gaming industry

News of possible exclusive deals between Sony and Konami has sent shockwaves throughout the gaming industry. Fans are eagerly awaiting official confirmation from both companies, hoping that the rumors about upcoming remakes and reboots are true.
