Rainbow Six Siege Puts the Squeeze on Cheaters with New Mousetrap System ment for k+m console players

Rainbow Six Siege will get a new system that makes life difficult for cheaters at the start of the new season.

we know

"We know exactly which players are cheating," the developers explained in a short video posted on twitter announcing the new system. "We also know that cheaters in the higher ranks are a lot more common. It would be easy for us to just ban those players, but we want to try something different. We are going to try to take away the advantages they get."

Gravel Road

The new system will take effect at the start of season 8 on 7 March. Cheaters will begin to notice the delay creeping in slowly, but as they play it will become more and more obvious making their game-play less smooth than a gravel road

It's important to note that the Mousetrap system isn't just another old anti-cheat system. It's specifically designed to address a common problem in Rainbow Six Siege: the use of the mouse and keyboard on consoles. To gain an advantage over other players, many console players resort to using a mouse and keyboard. It's a significant issue that Ubisoft Montreal is eager to address with their new system.

Loophole

However, a potential loophole has been discovered on Reddit. According to a leak, players affected by the Mousetrap system can gradually remove the handicap by switching back to a controller, causing some fan backlash because they believe cheaters can easily get away with it this way without any real punishment

struggle

Rainbow Six Siege was released back in 2015 and has been struggling with cheaters since release as most fps games and games in general do, if this new tactic of taking the cheaters advantage away will actually change anything is to be seen
