Obsidian Apologizes for The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition Issues
Players have been disappointed by the release of The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition, with negative comments flooding social media since its release on Tuesday, and now, an obsidian dev has responded on Reddit.
Eager
In February, the enhanced version of the game for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC was announced, and players were eager for the promised improvements. However, players have complained about poor graphics, lower-than-expected frame rates, and other issues.
Apology
Obsidian Entertainment, the game's developer, has apologized on Reddit for the game's current state. He informed players that Private Division, the publisher label, is working on a patch that will be released as soon as possible. He also encouraged players to report their issues so that they could be resolved.
The patch
The main game, as well as the expansions Murder on Eridanos and Peril on Gorgon, are included in the Spacer's Choice Edition. Despite the negative feedback, the game still has potential, and players are hoping that the promised improvements will be included in the upcoming patch.
Promises
The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition is set in a dystopian future where corporations have taken over and players must navigate a world filled with corruption, greed, and danger. It should include a higher resolution, improved lighting and environments, faster load times, better performance, a dynamic weather system, more detail for characters, and an increased level cap, however for now all of that seems rather lacking.
