Microsoft Optimistic about optimizing Call of Duty Games for Nintendo Switch
Microsoft has been making moves towards expanding the Call of Duty franchise, and their latest plan involves optimizing Warzone for the Nintendo Switch.
The company believes that because Warzone supports hardware from 2015, it should be more than able to run smoothly on a Switch released in 2017.
Long history
Microsoft assured the UK Competition and Markets Authority that their developers have a long history of optimizing game performance for available hardware capabilities in response to the UK Competition and Markets Authority's possible acquisition of Activision Blizzard.
They also mentioned other successful Nintendo Switch releases, such as Apex Legends, Doom Eternal, Fortnite, and Crysis 3. They also expressed interest in porting Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 to the Switch.
COD on the switch
If the acquisition goes through, Microsoft has promised that all Call of Duty games will be released on the Nintendo Switch at the same time as other systems, with all features intact.
This was confirmed even further as Microsoft announced a 10-year deal with Nintendo last month, which could lead to exciting developments for Call of Duty fans who typically play their games on the Switch.
Skeptical
Some gamers, however, remain skeptical of Microsoft's plans, citing concerns about potential compromises in game quality and performance. It remains to be seen how well Warzone will run on the Switch and whether it will live up to players' expectations.
For the time being, all eyes are on Microsoft and its attempt to expand the Call of Duty franchise across multiple platforms. Whether or not their plans will come to fruition, only time will tell.
