Life is Strange: Reunion Save Everyone Guide: How to Stop the Fire

Securing a happy ending for Max and Chloe feels hollow if you let half the university burn to the ground behind them.

Life is Strange: Reunion does not pull punches during its climax. The night of the fire at Caledon University is a chaotic mess of overlapping timelines and panicked decisions. If you miss a single clue or fail a crucial dialogue check, characters will die. Even if you manage your Time Fatigue perfectly to secure the best possible outcome for Max and Chloe, the ending will carry a heavy, depressing undertone if the supporting cast perishes.

If you want to unlock the elusive "Super Max" achievement and see the "Wall of Heroes" during the epilogue instead of a grim memorial, you have to micromanage everyone's survival. Before the fire even starts, make sure you are actively picking up every piece of lore by following my all collectibles locations guide. The more you know about the campus, the easier it is to navigate the disaster.

The Ultimate Goal: Preventing the Fire entirely

You can run around putting out metaphorical and literal fires all night, but the absolute best way to save the majority of the cast is to prevent the campus from burning in the first place.

To stop the main fire from igniting, you must execute two highly specific actions earlier in the game:

  1. As Chloe at the Snapping Turtle: You must directly accuse Ren and immediately report his suspicious behavior to Noelle, the security guard.

  2. As Max after meeting Yasmin: You must directly accuse Vinh.

If you set up this exact sequence, Max will run into Reggie on the night of the fire. Reggie mentions seeing "somebody" lurking on Fremont Street right before the protest kicks off. Because Chloe warned Noelle earlier, Noelle successfully interrupts Ren before he can ignite the campus. With the main fire averted, characters like Owen and Loretta, who typically die in the blaze, are automatically saved.

However, stopping Ren does not save everyone. You still have several characters whose lives depend on your direct intervention during the chaos.

Rescuing the Supporting Cast

If you failed to stop Ren and the campus is actively burning, or you just need to secure the remaining cast members, here are the exact steps required for each person.

Saving Jeannette and Noelle

These two characters are intrinsically linked during the disaster.

First, as Max (right after the scene between Chloe and Safi), look at the noticeboard near the stairs leading to the observatory. You must interact with the tutoring flyer to learn that Jeannette is currently inside the observatory.

Next, follow the Custodian. After you speak with him about the water valves, step inside his open closet and grab the mask. When you inevitably run into Noelle on the path shortly after, you must give her the mask and explicitly mention that Jeannette is trapped in the observatory. If you miss the flyer, Max cannot warn Noelle, and Jeannette dies. If you fail to give Noelle the mask, she succumbs to the smoke.

Saving Anthony the Poet

This one is easy to miss because Anthony seems like a background extra. During the same sequence where you are opening the water valves and grabbing Noelle's mask, pick up the heavy wrench resting inside the Custodian's closet.

Run to the front of the Caledon building. You will find a jammed door that Max normally cannot open. Smash the door open with the wrench to pull Anthony out of the fire.

Saving Vinh

Vinh is a massive liability. Even if you stop Ren from burning the main campus, Vinh will attempt to blow up the Abraxas house.

To save him, you must have accused him as Max earlier in the game. If you successfully prevented Ren's fire, Max is free to track Vinh down at the Abraxas house. If the campus is burning, Max is too distracted, and Vinh dies in his own explosion.

How to Save Safi

Safi's survival operates entirely independently of the main fire. Whether Ren burns the campus or not, Safi is dealing with her own severe crisis inside the observatory.

You will know this sequence is starting when "Max" waves at Chloe from the ground and gestures toward Moses' office in the observatory. Prior to this, ensure that Max explicitly tells Safi about the fire, and absolutely do not accuse Safi of being the arsonist.

When Chloe finally confronts Safi in the office, you must play the conversation perfectly. Safi is on a knife's edge, and picking the wrong dialogue option causes her to light a cigarette, drop it in a wastebasket, and start an isolated fire that kills her.

Select these exact dialogue options as Chloe to talk her down:

  1. "I'm sorry."

  2. "Max loves you."

  3. "She told you about the fire."

  4. "You've been hurting since Maya died."

  5. "She knows you can do better."

  6. "Fine. Let's be bastards."

If you successfully talk Safi down, stop Ren from igniting the campus, rescue Anthony with the wrench, and give Noelle the mask to save Jeannette, you will trigger the optimal epilogue.

When the final scene plays out at the Snapping Turtle, look at the wall. If you see a "Wall of Heroes," you pulled it off. If you see a memorial, you missed a step, and it is time to load a previous save.
