Forza Horizon 6 Progression Guide: Wristbands and Unlocking Legend Island
Gaining access to the ultimate racing endgame requires you to prove your worth on the asphalt.
Almost every single street and mountain pass in Japan is completely open to you from the moment you drop into the game, with one massive exception. If you check the southeast corner of your map, you will spot Legend Island. This secluded chunk of land is locked down tight until you earn the title of Horizon Legend. Before you waste hours delivering food or taking pictures of scenery to get there, you need to understand exactly how the dual progression system works. I spent my first few days grinding the wrong activities, so I broke down the exact path you need to follow to secure your invite.
The Horizon Festival Point Grind
To get your tires onto Legend Island, you need to accumulate exactly 32,500 Horizon Festival points and secure the Gold Wristband.
The game runs two progression paths side by side. Discover Japan handles the casual exploration activities, while the Horizon Festival path handles the actual racing. If your goal is reaching the island, you must focus entirely on activities marked with an "H" icon. Winning a standard street race or cross-country event hands you roughly 350 points, while finishing third or fourth drops that payout significantly. You also need to smash every single XP Bonus Board you spot, as each one adds a quick 30 points to your total.
When it comes to PR Stunts, do yourself a favor and filter your map. Save the massive Speed Traps and Danger Signs for later when you actually own an X-class hypercar. Drift Zones are the easiest stunts to clear early because you just need a car that slides well rather than raw top speed. If you are struggling to keep your multiplier alive on the mountain passes, my Forza Horizon 6 drifting guide covers the exact tuning metrics you need.
Wristband Tiers and Rewards
As you rack up points, you graduate through seven distinct wristband tiers. Hitting a new threshold unlocks a dedicated Wristband Event, and completing that event grants you exclusive car rewards. I tracked the exact point requirements and vehicle payouts for every tier below.
Breaking Down the Showcase Events
Hitting the point thresholds is only half the battle. To actually claim your new wristband colors, you have to survive some incredibly chaotic showcase challenges.
Yellow and Green Wristbands
The Yellow tier is a straightforward set of qualifier races in slow D and C-class vehicles. The Green tier kicks the difficulty up immediately with Pier Pressure. This is a technical time attack course through the Tokyo City Docks using a twitchy Ford RS200 Evolution. You have to navigate a maze of narrow shipping containers and hit a tight four minute target for the top reward.
Blue and Pink Wristbands
Mech My Day is the wildest event in the entire franchise. You drive an Acura NSX Type S against Chaser Zero, a massive stomping anime robot throwing environmental hazards onto the track. If the intense particle effects during this boss fight cause your frame rate to stutter, you should look at my Forza Horizon 6 PC performance settings guide to smooth out the visual chaos. The Pink tier event, Off Piste, throws you into a slippery downhill snow race. Let the car slide naturally through the corners instead of fighting the grip.
Orange, Purple, and Gold Wristbands
Flight Club pits your Porsche 911 Rallye against a stunt plane. Keep your eyes on the dirt checkpoints and try to stick your massive jump landings cleanly to maintain speed. Launch Control is a brutal hypercar race that demands absolute perfection off the starting line. Finally, the Gold event is the Horizon Legend race. This acts as a celebratory victory lap alongside returning characters. You just need to cross the finish line to complete the campaign.
What Awaits on Legend Island
Once you finish that final Gold race, the bridge opens up. You finally gain access to Legend Island, which serves as the definitive endgame zone.
The island features the incredibly tough Legend Island Circuit, a fresh batch of untouched XP boards, and the standard Goliath race. More importantly, it hosts the brand new Colossus event. This is the longest endurance race ever created in a Horizon game, looping the entire Japanese freeway system. You might see some custom EventLab creations popping up online that let you spawn onto the island early, but I highly recommend avoiding them. The developers have a strict history of handing out bans for progression exploits, and losing your entire garage just to skip the line is not worth the risk. If your garage is getting too cluttered with unwanted rewards from your wristband grind anyway, check out my Forza Horizon 6 car selling guide to learn how to flip them on the Auction House for clean credits.
