Female footballers criticize their digital appearance in the latest FIFA game

The addition of National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) and UEFA Women's Champions League (UWCL) to the latest installment of the FIFA series was celebrated by many fans of the game. However, it appears that not all female footballers are pleased with the way they are portrayed in the game.

Twitter

Several players have taken to social media to express their dissatisfaction with the digital versions of themselves. Caprice Dydasco, defender for the Houston Dash, shared a screenshot of her character and stated that it did not represent her. Sydney Leroux of Angel City also tweeted a screenshot of her character, joking that it might just scare her kids.

understandable, however.

While it's understandable that players want to be accurately represented in the game, it's worth noting that this has also been a problem for male players and teams. Female players, on the other hand, appear to be more sensitive to this issue, most likely due to a lack of representation and exposure in previous FIFA games and media in general.

Others are optimistic

Despite some players' criticism, the inclusion of the NWSL and UWCL in FIFA 23 is a significant step forward for women's football. Both teams, as well as the NWSL, have expressed their delight at the inclusion and anticipate further growth and recognition for the sport in the future.

response

The developers of FIFA 23, EA Sports, have yet to respond to the players' criticism of their digital versions. However, they will most likely consider the feedback and work to improve the accuracy and representation of female players in future versions of the game.
