Far Far West Skins Guide: How to Unlock Every Outfit

Surviving the frontier is important. Doing it while looking absolutely fabulous is mandatory.

In Far Far West, causing absolute chaos in the middle of town requires the right aesthetic. You start the game wearing the most basic, dirt-stained outfits imaginable. If you want to actually look like a legendary bounty hunter, you have to put in the work. The game features a massive wardrobe of cosmetics, but the unlock requirements are entirely over the place. Some outfits are incredibly cheap, some require you to complete specific map questlines, and others demand a ridiculous, mind-numbing grind.

If you need to build up your bank account before going on a shopping spree, use my Far Far West beginner guide to optimize your gold farming route.

The Rootin' Tootin' Wardrobe

You handle all of your cosmetic changes back at the main lobby. Head over to the Rootin' Tootin' Shop. This specific terminal serves as your central hub for outfits. You use this menu to purchase the gold-tier skins, claim the ones you unlocked through gameplay, and swap your active appearance before you queue up for a hunt.

The Complete Skin Unlock List

Breaking Down the Hardest Grinds

Most of these outfits unlock naturally as you play the game, but a few of them require highly specific farming strategies to acquire.

The 25,000 Cryptic Challenge

The Definitely Not Cryptic skin sits at the absolute top of the rarity chart for a reason. You have to kill 25,000 Cryptic enemies to unlock it. There is absolutely no fast way to do this. You simply have to clear hordes endlessly until the milestone pops. Equip your best crowd-control magic and prepare for a very long grind.

Tracking Down NPCs

Several skins force you to engage with the map questlines. Unlocking the Otto skin requires you to pass the notoriously annoying license exams. I highly suggest keeping my Far Far West Otto Quiz guide open so you get a perfect score on the written test. Additionally, if you want the Wandering Trader skin, you have to successfully trade with her 30 times. She is incredibly elusive, so use my Wandering Trader location guide to pinpoint her spawns using audio cues.

The Missing Pumpkin Skin

As you can see on the list, the Pumpkin Jack skin is entirely locked out right now. If you missed the Halloween playtest period, the old promo codes are completely dead. I broke down exactly why the developers wiped this cosmetic and when it will return in my Far Far West Pumpkin Skin guide.

Unlocking the Cariboo Mythic

The Cariboo skin is hidden behind a secret mission on the final map of the game. You have to travel to the Far Far North map and enter the secluded cave on the northern edge to start the objective.
