Elden Ring manages to sell 20 Million Copies in Just One Year
Elden Ring, FromSoftware's incredibly popular and universally praised Soulsborne-like action RPG, has reached yet another milestone. According to FromSoftware, more than 20 million copies of the game have been sold worldwide in the year since its February 2022 release.
This impressive sales record, which was announced in a press release, comes as no surprise given the game's incredible popularity and positive reviews since its release.
GOTY
Developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco, Elden Ring is a Soulsborne-like action RPG that has taken the gaming world by storm even winning Game of the Year in 2022, beating out other highly-anticipated titles.
Everyone wants it
The game sold 12 million copies in just a few weeks after its initial release, and the counter had already surpassed 16 million copies by August of last year.
While Bandai Namco and FromSoftware did not disclose exact sales numbers in the press release, we wouldn't be surprised to see the 25m milestone be reached this year.
Accessible
The Soulsborne games have a reputation for being notoriously difficult, but Elden Ring is considered to be the most accessible game in the series, which may contribute to its popularity because it allows even more people to enjoy it compared to the other releases.
