Call of Duty's Secret Plans for the year Leaked in data breach
Activision Blizzard’s data breach back in December may have exposed private documents, including its plans for this year's Call of Duty.
According to Insider Gaming, a confidential document revealing the season schedule for the popular first-person shooter game may have been leaked in the December breach.
Seasons
The document offers a glimpse into the upcoming Call of Duty season structure, which consists of four separate seasons that last about two months each.
Season 3 is set to run from March 15th to May 15th, followed by Season 4 from May 15th to July 16th, Season 5 from July 17th to September 14th, and then finally Season 6 from September 15th to November 8th.
Maps and operators
But that isn't the only thing we now know. In addition to the season schedule, the leaked document reveals a number of features and events that will be added to the game throughout the year.
These include seven "core maps," some of which appear to be rehashes of older maps, a Halloween event called "Haunting of Saba," as well as a licensed operator for each season, most likely indicating collaborations or crossovers for those operator designs.
Shipment 2.0
Players can also expect more Gunfights, Spec Ops missions, Raids, and Tier 1 Events, with Season Three marking the start of this new content.
On top of that Season 4 will feature a new "Small Map" experience, similar to the very popular and beloved but also infamous Shipment map.
Confirming it
While the leak has certainly piqued the interest of COD fans, there is one important detail to remember. Activision Blizzard has not officially confirmed any of the information in the document, and it is entirely possible that plans will change before they are announced through official channels, possibly as a targeted response to this leak.
Nonetheless, this sneak peek into Call of Duty's future is sure to keep gamers on the edge of their seats, eagerly anticipating what's in store.
